The Blue Castle Method is an animated short film that challenges stereotypical ideals of masculinity and opens up new perspectives.

The film’s central idea stems from observing when and where men cry. While men rarely show emotion in everyday life, tears are not uncommon in soccer stadiums. Soccer thus becomes a socially accepted space for male emotions. But what if these men aren’t even going to the stadium for the soccer?

The short film tells the story of a young man who struggles to come to terms with his grief following his father’s death. It is only at the football stadium that he finds a way to deal with his feelings.
