The visual arrangement of the audiovisual work “Helios” is reminiscent of a stylised sun. It incorporates the position of the viewer: the closer you get to it, the more intense the generative animation and sound experience becomes. A feedback loop is created. The aesthetics oscillate between subtle attraction and total sensory overload. “Helios” was created as part of the “Creative Coding” seminar and was realised at the Center of Immersive Media (CIM). The interactive installation uses controllable LED tubes, live camera tracking and abstracted image and sound generation in real time.
