How can nature be observed and the context “north” translated into graphic design?
The work documents a semester abroad in Lapland by means of a visual archive and its translation into a graphic design language. Referring to the current design discourse and the question of what design research can be, expert opinions are consulted and own methods are developed through analysis and a systematic approach. Experimental set-ups as well as the significance of the results for design practice are reflected theoretically as well as practically in order to document a “scientific” approach to design.
