Photographs from the war show power, suffering and violence. At first glance, these are neither aesthetic nor beautiful sights. But what happens when we look closer and go deeper? And no longer see photography as an informing medium, but only as an image in colour and form. “Zwischen Euphrat und Tigris” shows in a light installation and in a documentary book methods and results of aesthetic abstraction generated from a total of 4,558 images of press photographs of the Iraq war.
