Following the publication of his monograph on Otl Aicher (Phaidon, 2006, 2010), Markus Rathgeb’s current book focuses on the social relevance of design. From an intersection of design, sociology and philosophy, it develops many fundamental and relevant questions that reflect on how to actively design our coexistence. Design for Life first shows alternatives to the still predominant understanding of design. In addition, it offers concrete suggestions for the practical application and thus the effectiveness of design in everyday life.
