As an AI scout at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), art director and trend researcher Grit Wolany provides exciting insights into current developments in generative AI.
Using practical examples from her experimental work and from ZHdK, she will show how AI is transforming the creative landscape, how the technology can be integrated into art direction and curation and how design craftsmanship and specialist knowledge form a sound basis for the creative use of AI.

Grit Wolany is a freelance art director and AI scout at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). In 2021/22, she completed her Master’s degree in Design, Trends & Identity at the ZHdK and wrote her thesis on the topic of »AI in the creative industries«. What began as design research developed over time into explorative artistic work with generative algorithms and digital new media. Grit regularly teaches at various universities on the subject of GenAI and holds workshops and lectures.
