During the last November Weekend 2025, ULTRAMATERIA transformed Collini’s new industrial hall into a temporary cathedral of media art. Over the course of four days, the space became a laboratory for immersive installations, performative experiments, and critical discourse at the intersection of art, technology, and society.
The festival’s curatorial focus was on artistic exploration of key issues of our time: artificial intelligence, sustainability and the future of materiality. Our Media Design study programme was partnering the festival (Prof. Dr. Klaus Birk, Prof. Simon Gallus), showcasing related student projects, and being part of the workshops, lectures and performances during the festival.
The overall program included
Large-scale installations & immersive spaces
With works by NEON GOLDEN, Grit Wolany, Miriam Prantl, Addie Wagenknecht, Gerold Tagwerker, and others.
Machine aesthetics between low- and high-tech
With works by Hubert Dobler and AATB.
