Klaus Birk is the Director of Studies Media Design III and part of the faculty since 2005. He lectures in Interaction Design, Motion Design and Transmedia. His research focuses on digital design methods and the Digital City. Additionally, he advises companies on innovation design strategies. He studied communication design at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule in Kiel and the London College of Communication and holds a PhD from the University of the Arts London. Since 1998, he has worked for several design offices in Germany and the UK, most recently as the design director for Intuity Media Lab. He taught at various Universities such as Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), UAL London or the School for Design St Gallen (CH). His work has won numerous international awards. He writes for FORM design magazine and is a regular conference speaker on designing digital futures.
