This simple question seems to generate so many answers today that a definition of the term seems to be impossible. Depending on the point of view, it is a question of aesthetics or function, of strategy or meaning, of consistency or provocation. The fact that these perspectives are not at all mutually exclusive, indeed often even conditional, is demonstrated by our graduates with their perspectives on their work.
From September 14-15, 2019, a total of 83 graduates will present their bachelor’s theses from the Media Design course at the DHBW Ravensburg. The exhibition of the works in the Altes Theater, the Obertor, and, this year new, in the Kapuziner Kreativzentrum, invites interaction, reflection and exchange. In keeping with the multifaceted concept of design, we were able to win the Hamburg-based design company MUTABOR for the design talk. True to the agency’s motto “I will transform myself”, Marle-Maria Janßen, Head of Strategy, will pursue the question of what perspectives design must take on today when developing brand identities.
After the official welcome and introduction to the exhibition on Saturday morning, the course of studies will award the “Ravensburg Design Prize 2019” among last year’s graduates. This will be presented by the director of the Baden-Württembergische Bank, Mr. Markus Kistler.
On the second day, the Bachelor exhibition will traditionally open with a Weißwurst breakfast at 11:00 a.m. Starting at 13.00 hrs, the panel discussion with alumni of the course will take place at the Kapuziner Kreativzentrum. The discussion will focus on the question of what career perspectives are opening up, how the job description is developing and how good cooperation is successful.
