ZMS
ZMS (“Zeig mal Scheide” – “Show your pussy”) deals with sexism in the German rap-community. While the lyrics consist of YouTube comments discrediting female rap artists, the music video reproduces male rapper stereotypes in a sarcastic manner. The visual background is build of metaphors taken from the lyrics, while the female rappers perform in the foreground in typical rap style manner. ZMS by Frissy is a brassy, exaggerated song and video which has the mission to fight sexism in the german rap community. Lyrics, music, acting and video are all done by the two artists, showing female agency and empowerment in an overall male dominated genre.
