Every tenth woman in Germany suffers from lipedema. But the widespread disease is still hardly addressed and yet strongly stigmatized. The work “LIP OH DAMN” presents a fashion collection that depicts the symptoms of lipedema in a novel, polarizing way. The creative interpretation conveys to the audience the precarious situation of those affected. At the same time, it raises awareness about the inadequacy of policy support. The work has a clear goal: to create broad public awareness of the disease in order to work toward the urgent need for reform of our health care system.
