Three DHBW Media Design projects from Ravensburg scored this year. A group of students of the courses Media Design and International Business won a coveted Golden Nail in the category “Integrated communication” for their Awareness Campaign “Chicksal”: startup entrepreneur Mike draws attention to the issue of mass killing of chicks in the poultry industry by promoting his rather macabre “business ideas”.
In the category “Design”, Daniel Hartmann and Kathe Moritz won an excellent ADC Silver Nail: their thesis project “Das Andere” the two investigated into the motives behind altruistic action. They developed a documentary book format, combining typography, moving image and interaction design in an innovative new way.
An award also went to Franziska Clas for her bachelor thesis “Heimattype”. She developed a dynamic OpenType font system that automatically writes and converts to various german dialects.

Each year the competition of the Art Directors Club for Germany (ADC) eV examines the best creative works being published in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It is one of the largest and most important creative competitions in German-speaking countries. Covering the fields of advertising, design, editorial, Audiovisual and Digital Media as well as Spatial Communication, the best ideas get awarded, inspiring experts and audience alike.
The winners were announced during the ADC Festival on May 22, 2015 in Hamburg.
