The German Design Council is supporting design graduates with a new initiative: the German Design Graduates Platform brings together the most important art and design universities in Germany. To date, the GDG has been focussing primarily on product and industrial design (in particular on sustainability aspects and social issues). Since 2025, the categories of communication design and digital design have been added. Therefore the platform became also interesting for MdRV graduates.
By participating in this programme as DHBW University, we enable our graduates to benefit from broad international visibility – free of charge for the students. All submitted works are presented online on the Graduates Platform and via the German Design Council’s social media channels. Selected works will be shown in renowned design exhibitions (e.g. Museum of Applied Arts Cologne, Dutch Design Week 2025).
By participating in the GDG, MdRV graduates are also automatically nominated for the German Design Award – Newcomer (a separate design award).
