Professor Andrea Hennig is a trained bookbinder who studied communication design in Mainz with Hans-Peter Willenberg. After finishing her studies, she worked as an art director for luxury brands such as Davidoff, Joop!, Lancaster, Bogner, and Bulgari. From 2001 to 2004, she worked as a creative director for art at the Gregory Welteroth advertising agency in Nuremberg. After completing her doctoral studies in art education (FAU Nuremberg), she conducted research on perception and communication processes as well as on visual aesthetics. In 2007 she was appointed professor of communication design at the Stuttgart Macromedia University for Media and Communication and oversaw she was responsible the departments of game and media design. In 2013 she was appointed to the Ravensburg University of Cooperative Education faculty. In addition to teaching, she runs a communications office in Upper Swabia. Her work has won numerous design awards and accolades.
