In the 1960’s and 70’s, Turkey was one of the largest centers of film production in the world. The Turkish film industry reacted to the international competition by re-shooting european and american films. Lax copyright laws enabled the sampling of soundtracks and the reproduction of scenes. By showing parts of the Turkish versions of “The Exorcist”, “Rambo” and “Star Wars”, “Remake, Remix, Rip-off” offers an insight into the creative copy practice of Turkish film producers.
