As part of a cooperation project between the Kornhausgalerie and the media design course at DHBW Ravensburg, second semester students developed design concepts for a catalogue to accompany the exhibition by Herman de Vries – “Works on Paper”.
Since his beginnings with the Dutch group Nul, which was close to ZERO, Herman de Vries has developed a singular artistic oeuvre. He has participated in international exhibitions such as the Venice and Lyon Biennials and ‘Skulptur.Projekte’ Münster.
The catalogue should reflect the significance of his artistic work and have a high recognition word, but at the same time it should also be a prelude publication for a catalogue series for the gallery.
From a series of proposals by second semester students, the gallery advisory board ultimately decided on Aruna Gallas’ book concept. Together with Prof. Andrea Hennig, the catalogue has now been realised and printed in an edition of 200 copies.
