Turkish rock meets German electronics, Pakistani film music extends a hand to Filipino love songs, the Far East is (musically) quite western.
Picktune Radio broadcasts from different cities with changing guests who deal with alternative forms of music. The guest tonight is DJ Jaywalk aka Holger Lund from the Berlin label Global Pop First Wave and at the same time teaching at the DHBW Ravensburg’s media design department.
The music world is teeming with undiscovered vinyl treasures that combine various cultural influences. These musical hybrids should be given an ear. There are also selected vinyl pieces from the programs to buy in an online shop.
The format offers a very special feature in the visual area. Each Picktune program is visually illustrated by new designers, including several alumni. The result is available as a limited print form (poster A2). Each motif is unique and created by different talents using different techniques. So far there have been 12 programs and thus 12 motifs to marvel at. These are now being put on display for the first time in the form of a live event.
