In a broader discussion, we will deal with the question of how the beginnings of movies work. The talk will touch on concrete cinematic vision as well as structural considerations bringing cinematic exposition to life. We will look at narrative plots and examine the specifics of establishing characters. Based on a concrete example we will analyse the functional and emotional development of a character for its audience. Also, there will be an excursion towards extended narratives in contemporary movie series. A lively discussion is being encouraged.
