At the 20th Filmschau Baden-Württemberg, their Bachelor’s degree film “yabanci – Fremder” was awarded this year’s Kath. Youth Media Award 2014. The two received the prize for the best film in the category “20-25 years”!
The work sensitively sketches the emotional world of a single father, filled with worry, mistrust and delusion, in a 9-minute short film. He is suddenly confronted by the strangeness that moves into his family in the person of his daughter’s foreign boyfriend.
The Filmschau Baden-Württemberg takes place annually over five days at the end of November / beginning of December in the Metropol Kino Stuttgart. Around 60 films are presented by professionals from the industry and young filmmakers from the local educational institutions. In the competition for the Baden-Württemberg Film Prize and the Youth Film Prize, awards are presented in various film categories.
The competition for the Kath. Youth Media Prize is organised by the Episcopal Youth Office of the Diocese of Rottenburg-Stuttgart in cooperation with Filmbüro Baden-Württemberg e.V.. The Youth Media Award is supported by Filmbüro Baden-Württemberg e.V., Jugendpresse Baden-Württemberg e.V. and Stuggi TV.
