As one out of five Newcomer Finalists, Sebastian Winter has the chance to win the German Design Award worth 15.000 €. Being nominated is already a great honour, increases the visibility of young designers and opens the door to the tightly-knit network of the Stiftung für Rat und Fomgebung. „The nomination as a Newcomer finalist at the German Design Awards means a lot to me. It validates my path as a designer and I look forward to exchanging ideas with other designers” said Winter. It is not possible to apply for the award. Instead, finalists are nominated by the award’s scouting-team or representatives of universities. Sebastian Winter is currently a freelance Interaction Designer and Creative Developer. Besides teaching at the DHBW Ravensburg, the former media design student teaches at the HBK Essen and the Bauhaus Universität Weimar.

The winner of the German Design Award 2024 will be announced at the award ceremony on 26th january 2024 in Frankfurt am Main. The other four finalists will each receive 2.500 €.
